Nicholson's Late Goal Propels Clark Past Trinity 3-2

Box Score

WORCESTER, Mass.-
Clark men's soccer (4-1-0) graduate student Alex Nicholson scored the game winning goal in the 85th minute to propel the Cougars to victory over Trinity College (Conn.) (0-2) on Saturday afternoon from Granger Field.

The win saw three different players score for Clark for a second consecutive game. This match marks the third straight win for the Cougars.

Coach O'Toole and Nicholson's Thoughts

"Another great win for this group," said O'Toole following the win. "It was arguably our most complete performance to date. We have been able to learn a lot about our team over the first five games. One more test tomorrow before we enter NEWMAC play next Saturday."

"This was a really important game for us to get a result coming away from the non-conference season after a couple of good wins we really needed to buckle down against a really good NESCAC opponent," said Nicholson. "I thought we fought hard in the first half, lost momentum a little bit in the second half, but we were able to figure it out and get the game winning goal. We're looking forward to the NEWMAC season ahead."
