Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University volleyball team (9-9, 3-3 NEWMAC) hosted their pride game, but fell in straight sets to Springfield (9-4, 3-3 NEWMAC) on Tuesday night from the Kneller Gymnasium
Springfield won the first set 25-17, the second set 25-18, and the third set 25-17.
How it Happened
- The Cougars fell behind 10-8 in the first set despite a kill and a service ace from senior Claudia Rivera and kills from juniors Victoria Pastor and Camille Flurry.
- Clark made it an 11-9 game in the first set, but the Pride pulled away from Clark as they held a 22-13 edge and fell 25-17 in the set despite two more kills from both Flurry and junior Sheyenne Williams off passes from sophomore Emily Newman.
- The scarlet and white took an 11-8 lead in the second set sparked by two kills from Rivera and two from Pastor.
- Springfield then took a 16-13 edge in the set before Flurry added consecutive kills and an attack error on the Pride made it a 19-16 set as the teams traded points, but the Pride won the second set 25-18.
- Clark took a 7-6 lead early in the final set with six total team kills, with three coming from Pastor, but the Pride went on an 8-4 run to take a 15-10 advantage.
- Pastor and Rivera added kills down the stretch, but Springfield came away with a 25-17 win in the final set.

- Clark recorded 27 kills, dished out 23 assists, and registered 41 digs.
- Pastor and Flurry each tied for the team lead with seven kills.
