Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (2-9-1) welcomed Worcester State (6-3-1) to Granger Field and battled for 90 minutes and came away with a 0-0 draw in the pouring rain on Wednesday night.
How it Happened
- Both teams traded possession over the first 20 minutes of action that also saw sophomore Lucas Saia fire a shot just wide of the mark.
- First-year Luke Sheldon put a shot on target in the 25th minute that was saved by Andy Ramirez and sophomore Tyler Manley hit the post off a corner serviced in by fellow sophomore William Lopez.
- Junior Andrew DiStefano recorded his first save of the match in the 43rd minute on a shot from Waseem Mahmoud as the teams entered the half tied at 0-0.
- Nate Lewos put a shot on target in the 47th minute that DiStefano stopped and Lopez fired a ball from the left side of the pitch that hit the right crossbar in the 57th minute.
- DiStefano came up with another save in the 69th minute on a shot from Luke-Mark Anu and recorded another stop on a shot from Alexander Papageorgiou in the 73rd minute,
- The Cougars offense then applied heavy pressure as Manley put a shot on goal off a corner that was saved and Sheldon and junior Teddy Donahue each put shots on target in the 84th minute that were saved.
- Donahue created a pair of chances in the 89th minute as he beat the defense down the pitch, but Ramirez came out of goal to make two saves as the teams played to a 0-0 draw.
