Men's Tennis Falls to Assumption in Home Opener

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's tennis team (0-3) completed their fall season and played their first home match of the year with an 8-1 loss to Assumption (1-1) on Friday afternoon from the Corash Tennis Courts.

How it Happened

  • Sophomore Adrian Ramirez recorded Clark's point in the match with a pair of 7-6, 7-6 wins over Caira.
  • Senior Dariy Vykhodstev and first-year Graham Russo battled with Toderasev and Siles of Assumption in number one doubles, but were edged 8-6.
  • Sophomore Aiden Hurtado and first-year Sai Chanda fell 8-2 in number two doubles to Nguyen and Ryan.
  • In number three doubles, graduate student Holden Moore and senior Sam Pomann dropped a competitive match 8-6 to Butkus and Caira.
  • Pomann took his match in number two singles to three sets after falling 6-4 in the first set, winning the second set 6-3 and fell 10-3 in the final set.
  • Russo (No. 1), Hurtado (No. 3), Moore (No. 4), and senior Joshua Ofosu-Amani (No. 5) each fell in straight sets in singles play.
