BRUNSWICK, Me. – The Clark University men's cross country team completed their 2022 season at the NCAA Regionals on Saturday afternoon in the 8k event from Pickard Field.
Coach Mauro's Thoughts
The men's team had another battle with injury and illness. The temperate rose dramatically at the start of the men's race. It was a sunny and surprising 70 this November afternoon! They all worked together to produce a performance they can walk away proud of! Will and Ryan ran their last races as cougars and left it all out there on the muddy torn-up course! Evan, John, and Jack showed up to the starting line not feeling 100%. Despite that, they ran races full of heart, grit, and determination. I couldn't be prouder of their efforts today. We had two stand-out performances by Sam and Noah. Sam bested his course time by 7 seconds with the mentality "I'm just going to keep rolling". And he did! All the way to a course PR! Noah bested his pre regionals time by a full minute and twelve seconds! All the thinking and planning he's done around race strategy really showed through today's performance! On top of phenomenal performances on the course, we had a phenomenal performance from our teammates cheering each other on. Our full team made an appearance today and everyone brought energy. It was a great day to be a Cougar!
