ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Clark University men's cross country team competed at the NEWMAC Championships on Saturday morning, finishing seventh overall. The Cougars sent 12 runners to the event and placed one inside the top 25.

How it Happened

• Sophomore Summit Smoker was the first Cougar to cross the finish line with a time of 26:50.0, good for 25th overall.

• First-year William Stone (28:53.2), junior Robert Burton (29:11.5), and first-year Benjamin Pennington (29:18.2) each cracked the top 75 with their performances.

• First-year Calvin Hillis Piecyk (30:18.4), first-year Rodeo Purves-Langer (30:43.5), sophomore Nathaniel Storck (30:46.7), and senior William Pulvino (30:59.1) all placed inside the top 100, with Purves-Langer setting a new career best.

• First-year Samuel Wong (33:27.2), junior Gage Delgado (35:39.9), junior Miles Caponi (35:49.4), and sophomore Michael Manley (37:49.1) rounded out the field for the Cougars.

What's Next

The scarlet and white now turn their attention to NCAA Regionals which start on November 15th, with races beginning at 11:00 AM in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
