Box Score BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (1-2) played their third game of the season against Mass. Maritime (3-1) on Saturday afternoon from Clean Harbors Stadium and fell 11-7.
How it Happened
- Junior goalie Maddie Conners recorded two and first-year Meghan Fogarty got Clark on the board with 3:05 to go in the first quarter as the Cougars trailed 3-1.
- Fellow junior Elysia Hall fired a pair of shots early in the second quarter on net that were saved before junior Kiley Simmons netted a pair of goals off passes from junior Elizabeth Liakos and Fogarty as Clark pulled to within 6-3 at the half.
- Simmons fired another shot on goal that was saved and Fogarty scooped up the ground ball and found the back of the net to make it a 6-4 game.
- Conners came up with a critical save on a free position shot from Mass. Maritime with 6:54 left in the third and registered another save with 4:12 to go in the period.
- First-year Erin Lucas earned a free position shot and buried it on a man-up opportunity as Clark now pulled within one at 6-5.
- Liakos found Hall with 13:11 to go in the fourth and Hall was able to tie the game at 6-6.
- After Mass. Maritime added a goal, Simmons buried a free position shot to tie the game at 7-7 with 10:56 remaining.
- Clark's offense created some opportunities late in the fourth quarter, but fell 11-7.
