Box Score WENHAM, Mass. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (1-1) rallied late in the fourth quarter, but fell 17-14 loss to Gordon (1-0) on Wednesday afternoon from the Brigham Athletic Complex.
How it Happened
- Juniors Elysia Hall and Kiley Simmons scored two of the first three goals of the game, with first-year Meghan Fogarty assisting on the Simmons goal as Clark led 2-1 with 8:54 to go in the first quarter.
- After Gordon took a 4-2 lead, sophomore Angela Borelli and Hall scored early in the second quarter to tie the game at 4-4 with 13:47 remaining in the second quarter.
- Simmons netted her second goal of the half with 4:41 to go before Gordon took a 10-5 advantage into the half.
- Simmons and Hall combined to score the first two goals of the second half to pull back within three at 10-7 before Gordon ended the quarter on a 5-1 run with Simmons adding the other Clark goal as Gordon led 15-8 after three quarters.
- Hall scored three goals early in the fourth quarter and Simmons netted another goal as Clark scored four consecutive goals in the fourth quarter in what was now a 16-12 contest.
- Gordon added another goal before Simmons and Hall scored before the end of the game as the Cougars were edged 17-14.
