SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (3-11, 1-8 NEWMAC) recorded its first conference win in its history when it cruised to a 15-5 win over Mount Holyoke (1-12, 0-9 NEWMAC) on Wednesday night from the MHC Track & Turf.

How it Happened

• Clark took an early 2-0 lead when first-year Aubrey Conners netted a pair of goals as the Cougars went up by two with 7:21 to go in the first quarter.
• Fellow first-year Meghan Fogarty nearly extended the lead, but Mount Holyoke's goalie Emma Tower made the save and Holyoke tied the game at 2-2.
• Fogarty gave Clark the lead back with 4:17 remaining in the first off a feed from fellow first-year Erin Lucas to take a 3-2 advantage.
• Fogarty and junior Kiley Simmons scored goals before the end of the first quarter as Clark led 5-3.
• Simmons netted a free position goal to open the second quarter and the Cougars then got goals from Conners and sophomore Claudia Oakleaf found a cutting Lucas to extend the lead to 8-4.
• Simmons scored the final goal of the half on a free position shot as Clark took a 9-4 advantage into the half.
• Conners scored the first goal of the third quarter and junior Elizabeth Liakos netted a free position goal as the Cougars outscored Mount Holyoke 2-1 in the third to take an 11-5 lead into the fourth.
• Simmons scored two goals in the fourth and sophomore Mary Greene also netted two goals in the quarter with assists coming from Conners and junior Sophie Didier as Clark won 15-5.
