SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Clark University men's lacrosse team (3-11, 1-5 NEWMAC) dropped its regular season finale to Springfield (7-8, 4-2 NEWMAC) by a 26-9 margin on Saturday afternoon from Stagg Field.

How it Happened

• Junior Dylan Harloff got the start in goal for the Cougars and recorded four early saves to keep the game tied and senior Steve Caione had a shot on target that was saved in a defensive minded early first quarter.
• After Springfield scored two goals, sophomore Patrick Liddy got Clark on the board with a goal with 2:53 to go in the first and scored another goal as time expired in the first quarter as the Cougars trailed 3-2 after one.
• The Pride opened the second on a 4-0 run, but senior Jacob Brydson ended the Springfield run with a goal off a pass from sophomore Colin Howard with 9:26 left in the second.
• Senior Benjamin Hollerbach then scored a goal off a dish from graduate student Dan Turgeon before the half as Clark trailed 12-4 at the break.
• Junior Declan Fitzpatrick and Hollerbach helped the Cougars open the third quarter on a 2-1 run with goals early in the frame, but the Pride extended the lead to 15 goals at the end of the quarter.
• Hollerbach netted two goals in the fourth and first-year Alex D'Entrone scored in the last period.
