Box Score KEENE, N.H. – The Clark University volleyball team (4-4, 1-0 NEWMAC) won their second straight game with a 3-0 win over Keene State (1-5) on Thursday night from Spaulding Gymnasium.
The Cougars won the first set 25-19, the second set 25-17, and the third set 25-17.
How It Happened
- Clark opened the match with an 8-2 lead sparked by two kills from senior Cameron Gill and a service ace from junior Camille Flurry.
- The advantage was pushed to 14-5 with a pair of kills coming from junior Sheyenne Williams with assists going to graduate student Margarita Perez Maza and a later service ace from senior Claudia Rivera gave Clark an 18-9 edge.
- After the Owls made it a 21-18 first set, Rivera and a pair of attacking errors helped the Cougars prevail 25-19 in the first set.
- The Cougars opened the second set with an 8-4 advantage sparked by attacking errors on the Owls and kills from senior Sofia Scherrer del Llano and Rivera.
- The Owls battled back to tie the second set at 10-10, but the Cougars went on a 7-1 run led by a pair of service aces from sophomore Yvanna Torres and assists from Torres to junior Victoria Pastor and Gill to go up 17-11.
- Clark closed out the set with three kills from Pastor and Rivera as the Cougars took the second set 25-17.
- The Cougars scored the first five points of the third set with kills from Flurry, Torres, Gill, and Pastor before the Owls tied the set at 10-10.
- Clark then went on an 8-2 run as Scherrer del Llano and Rivera each registered three kills to give them an 18-12 edge.
- The Cougars ended the match with kills from Scherrer del Llano and Rivera and a Gill service ace gave Clark a 25-17 win in the set.
