Box Score MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Clark men's soccer (1-6, 0-1 NEWMAC) traveled to Connecticut for a non-conference contest against Wesleyan (5-0) and fell 8-2 to the Cardinals on Monday afternoon from Jackson Field.
How it Happened
- Sophomore William Lopez fired the first shot of the game in the third minute that was saved by Liam Devanny.
- After the Cardinals took a 1-0 lead, junior Andrew DiStefano recorded a save on a shot from Phillip Cubeddu in the 12th minute and Wesleyan extended the lead to 2-0 shortly after.
- Junior Anyolo Makatiani nearly cut the deficit in half in the 22nd minute with a shot on goal that was saved and DiStefano registered two more saves before the half as Clark trailed 3-0.
- Clark made it a 3-1 contest in the 56th minute when senior Connor Fitzgerald sent a right-footed cross into the box and junior Teddy Donahue found the ball and put it in the back of the net.
- After the Cardinals added two more goals, sophomore Colin Ruiz fired two shots on goal and Lopez put a shot on target that were saved.
- First-year Luke Sheldon scored Clark's second goal of the game in the 88th minute off a corner kick with the assists going to sophomore Luke Thomas and first-year Diego Farinacci.
