Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - Clark men's soccer (2-7, 0-2 NEWMAC) traveled to Coast Guard (6-0-1, 1-0-1 NEWMAC) on Saturday for a conference contest and were edged 3-0 by the Bears from Nitchman Field.
How it Happened
- Sophomore William Lopez attempted the first shot of the match in the 11th minute that was saved by John Vaaler.
- Junior Andrew DiStefano recorded a pair of saves on shots from Noah Engstrom and John DiTommaso in the 16th and 21st minutes.
- The Bears took a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute on a shot from Jude Sargent and after a save by DiStefano, Coast Guard extended their lead to 2-0 in the 45th minute as the Bears led 2-0 at the half.
- DiStefano recorded three saves within the first 15 minutes of the second half and junior Anyolo Makatiani fired a shot on goal in the 54th minute that was saved.
- Sargent added to the Bears lead in the 67th minute and DiStefano made a save in the 82nd minute as Coast Guard won 3-0.
