Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (2-8) welcomed Brandeis (4-2-2) to Granger Field on Tuesday night and after a scoreless first half, the Judges scored twice in the second half to win 2-0.
How it Happened
- Junior Andrew DiStefano recorded three saves within the first 13 minutes of action as the two teams traded possession in the early going.
- Sophomore William Lopez nearly gave Clark the lead in the 14th minute with a shot that was stopped by Aiden Guthro.
- DiStefano registered another save in the 19th minute on a shot from Rainer Osselmann-Chi and senior Ethan Furphy recorded a crucial defensive save in the 23rd minute to keep the game tied.
- Junior Teddy Donahue fired a shot on target in the 26th minute that was stopped and junior Anyolo Makatiani nearly gave Clark the lead with a header, but again Guthro made the stop.
- Right before the half, Donahue booted a shot from the left side of the pitch that Guthro just got a piece of as the game remained tied at 0-0 at the break,
- The Judges took a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute with a shot from Sancho Maroto Tobias off a rebound from Andres Gonzalez's first shot.
- Brandeis extended the lead to 2-0 in the 63rd minute when Rainer Osselmann-Chai connected on a shot.
- Sophomore Colin Ruiz put a shot on target in the 79th minute that nearly cut the deficit in half, but Guthro came away with another save as Brandeis won 2-0.
