Box Score 2 WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University volleyball team (2-0) opened its season with a pair of victories over Bay Path and Elms on Saturday afternoon from the Kneller Gymnasium.
The Cougars opened the year with a 25-12, 25-8, 25-12 victory over Bay Path and a 25-11, 25-11, 25-18 win against Elms.
Clark 3, Bay Path 0
- Senior Claudia Rivera opened the match with a pair of service aces and graduate student Marimo Oka also added four service aces of her own to give Clark an early 9-1 lead in the first set.
- Junior Victoria Pastor then registered a kill and a service ace while senior Cameron Gill, junior Camille Flurry, and senior Ava Spach also recorded kills as Clark took a 17-6 lead early.
- Senior Sofia Scherrer del Llano and Oka ended the first set with a kill and a service ace respectively to win 25-12 in the first set.
- Pastor and Flurry each recorded kills early in the second set as Clark took an 8-4 lead before the Cougars went on a 7-1 run capped by a Rivera kill to take a 16-6 edge.
- Oka ended the set with two more service aces and a Scherrer del Llano kill ended the set as Clark won 25-8.
- Clark took an 8-0 lead in the third set as Flurry led the way with two kills and junior Sheyenne Williams extended the lead to 10-3 with a pair of kills.
- Rivera ended the set with five kills as Clark pulled away with a 25-12 win in the third set.
- Clark recorded 37 kills led by 10 from Rivera.
- Flurry also had seven kills and senior Margarita Perez Maza led the way with 11 kills.

- Perez-Maza recorded a pair of service aces in the first set and a kill by Gill gave the Cougars a 10-4 advantage early.
- Scherrer del Llano, Williams, Flurry, Pastor, Perez-Maza, and Rivera each recorded a kill over the rest of the set as Clark took the first set 25-11.
- Scherrer del Llano and Pastor registered a pair of early kills to give Clark a 9-3 edge and after a rally from Elms, Rivera recorded a kill to give the Cougars a 12-9 edge.
- Williams led the way the rest of the set with two kills as the Cougars ended the set on a 13-2 run to give Clark the second set 25-11.
- The third set went back-and-forth early as the two teams were tied 10 different times to start the set before the Blazers took a 15-11 advantage despite two more kills from Flurry.
- The Cougars rallied back to take a 19-18 lead and Flurry provided two more kills to help the scarlet and white to come away with a 25-20 win in the third set.
- Flurry led the way with nine kills and Williams added six kills.
- Oka led the team with 16 digs and Torres registered 18 assists in the match.

Clark will travel to UMass-Dartmouth on Wednesday night for a non-conference match beginning at 6:00 p.m.
