SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Clark women's soccer team (8-3-4, 3-3-2 NEWMAC) traveled to Mount Holyoke (3-8-2, 1-7-0 NEWMAC) and came away with a 1-0 victory over the Lyons on Wednesday night from the MHC Soccer Field.
How it Happened
- Clark struck in the second minute of the match when junior Isabella Ramirez found graduate student Siobhan Lounsbury and Lounsbury put the ball in the back of the net to put the Cougars up 1-0.
- Lounsbury nearly added the squad's second goal in the 15th minute, but Clarissa Govea came away with the save.
- Junior Anabella White came away with three saves within a two-minute stretch before the half and senior Anika Floeck had her shot stopped as the Cougars took a 1-0 lead into the half.
- Lounsbury created a pair of chances early in the second half as she put a shot on goal that was saved and hit the crossbar in the 58th minute.
- Graduate student Emma Tziachris and sophomore Cassidy Hubbard each put shots on target that were saved as the scarlet and white continued to stretch the Lyon defense.
- Within a four-minute stretch, graduate student Jamie Stern, Tziachris, and Ramirez each put shots on goal that were saved.
- Lounsbury attempted Clark's final shot of the match and the Cougars held the Lyons without a shot on goal in the second half as they came away with a 1-0 victory.
