Men's Soccer Battles to 0-0 Draw With No. 13 Babson

WORCESTER, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (3-9-4, 1-4-2 NEWMAC) opened the week with a conference matchup against No. 13 Babson (10-3-5, 5-0-2 NEWMAC) and battled to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday afternoon from Granger Field.

How it Happened
  • Senior Andrew DiStefano opened the game with a save in the sixth minute off a shot from Justin Stone and registered another stop in the ninth minute off a Alexader Yablonovskiy strike.
  • DiStefano recorded two more saves over a two-minute stretch off attempts from Ryan Grund and Samuel Kalishman to keep the match tied at 0-0.
  • Junior William Lopez attempted Clark's most dangerous chance in the 21st minute off a free kick, but sent the shot just wide to the right.
  • Both defenses controlled the pace the rest of the half before Liam Rhatigan attempted the final shot of the half that was again stopped by DiStefano as the teams were tied 0-0 at the break.
  • DiStefano opened the second half with a save off a chance created by Owen Guglielmo and senior Anyolo Makatiani registered a dangerous chance in the 65th minute that was stopped by Walker White.
  • DiStefano registered two more saves in the 74th minute and 77th minute and senior Teddy Donahue created Clark's final chance in the 88th minute that went just high of the mark as the Cougars and Beavers drew 0-0.
