Field Hockey Drops Match Against Smith

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark field hockey team (4-6, 1-3 NEWMAC) welcomed Smith (5-6, 2-2 NEWMAC) to Granger Field for a match against the Pioneers and fell 5-0 on Tuesday night.

How it Happened
  • Sophomore Loren Root recorded a save early in the fourth minute and after the Pioneers netted three goals, sophomore Alison Kopec put a shot on target that was saved and Clark earned a pair of corners before the end of the period.
  • Clark held the Pioneers to only one shot on target in the second quarter as Smith took a 4-0 lead into the half.
  • Smith opened the third with a goal before sophomore Fionnuala Gormley and Kopec each put shots on target that were stopped and before the end of the period, senior Greer McCarty had a shot blocked.
  • Sophomore Jenna Beauchain serviced in a pair of balls off penalty corners in the fourth and sophomore Alexandra Cacciapaglia entered the match and recorded three saves.
