WORCESTER, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (2-7-3, 0-3-1 NEWMAC) welcomed Coast Guard (2-3-5, 1-1-2 NEWMAC) to Granger in a NEWMAC clash, but fell to the Bears 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened
- Senior Andrew DiStefano kept the Bears off the board early off a save from Alex Thissell shot attempt in the sixth minute, but Aki Freeman was able to get Coast Guard on the board with a shot in the eighth minute.
- After another DiStefano stop, sophomore Mauro Perez Colon put a shot on goal in the 11th minute that was stopped and junior William Lopez attempted a shot shortly after that hit the crossbar.
- DiStefano registered another save before the break as the Bears took a 3-0 edge into the half.
- Early in the second half, the senior netminder recorded three more saves and towards the end of the match, senior Teddy Donahue put a header just wide of the net as the scarlet and white fell 4-0.
