Men's Basketball Remains Unbeaten With 87-76 Victory Over Anna Maria

PAXTON, Mass. – Clark men's basketball (4-0) extended their winning streak to four games with an 87-76 victory over Anna Maria (3-3) on Tuesday afternoon from the Fuller Activity Center.

How it Happened
  • Clark opened the game with a 12-4 lead after holding the Amcats offense to just four points over the first six minutes of action and got four points from both junior Kekoa McArdle and sophomore Reid Neumann.
  • Junior Ian Calabrese hit a three to extend the edge to 15-5 with 13:09 to go in the first half and a McArdle layup pushed the lead to 17-5.
  • Five points from junior Bruce Saintilus and another Neumann made three-pointer helped give Clark a 28-16 advantage and made layups from first-year Christopher Clarke and sophomore Nate Edwards-Roseney kept it a 12-point lead at 32-20 with 6:42 remaining in the first half.
  • The teams then traded buckets over the next four minutes before a made layup by senior Mikey O'Brien off a feed from McArdle gave the Cougars a 43-34 advantage at the half.
  • The Amcats got within six early in the second half, but a made triple from junior Isaiah Taylor pushed the lead back up to nine before Anna Maria made it a 48-44 contest with 16:06 to go.
  • Clark responded with 11 unanswered points as Saintilus netted four points, Calabrese connected on a three, and senior Jordan Richard and McArdle each scored to take a 59-44 advantage with 12:47 remaining.
  • Richard hit another triple with 10:06 to go as the lead was at 12, but the Amcats clawed back into the game with 6:04 to go as they trailed by five before a Taylor jumper gave the scarlet and white a 73-66 edge.
  • Up three, O'Brien made a layup with 4:36 remaining to take a 75-70 lead and two Saintilus free throws gave the Cougars a 77-70 cushion.
  • Another Saintilus bucket and Richard triple with 1:02 to go gave Clark a double-digit lead as the Cougars came away with an 87-76 win over Anna Maria.

  • The Cougars grabbed 37 rebounds, dished out 13 assists, forced 10 turnovers, and shot 45.3% from the floor.
  • Saintilus netted a team-leading 20 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
  • Neumann scored 13 points and connected on three triples.
