Box Score BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Clark University men's lacrosse team (0-6, 0-2 NEWMAC) traveled to Babson (5-1, 2-0 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon and dropped a conference contest 24-11 to the Beavers from MacDowell Field.
How it Happened
- After Babson took an early 2-0 lead, graduate student Ryan Mickelson recorded a save on a shot from Chi Chi Price and LaVecchia nearly got Clark on the board with a shot on goal with 11:22 to go in the first, but his shot was saved.
- The Cougars got on the board with 6:01 remaining as graduate student Benjamin Hollerbach netted his 10th goal of the season.
- Junior Colin Howard scored his fourth goal of the year and brought Clark back within three at 5-2 with 5:10 to go in the first.
- Graduate student Noah Skole had a shot saved with less than a minute remaining in the first.
- Hollerbach netted his second goal of the game with 12:31 to go in the second and Skole made it an 8-4 contest off the next faceoff that was won by graduate student Mark Zito.
- Mickelson then recorded three saves before sophomore Josh Collins brought Clark back within three at 8-5 with 8:02 remaining in the second.
- The Beavers ended the second quarter on a 7-0 run to take a 15-5 lead into the half,
- Mickelson opened the third with three more saves and Howard had a shot saved by the Beavers before Hollerbach netted his third goal of the afternoon with 2:24 to go in the third to make it a 19-6 game.
- Hollerbach added another goal before the end of the third off a feed from Howard and junior Patrick Liddy scored a goal early in the fourth.
- Sophomore Matt Wells, senior Declan Fitzpatrick, and Liddy each added goals in the fourth.
