BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Clark men's tennis team (1-5, 0-2 NEWMAC) traveled to No. 23 Babson (8-1, 1-0 NEWMAC) for a NEWMAC contest and were edged 9-0 by the Beavers on Wednesday afternoon from the Babson Tennis Courts.
How it Happened
- Senior Matt Lee and graduate student Max Schweitzer battled to win three games in number three doubles, but fell 8-3 to Jack MacDonald and Jett Hampton.
- In number one doubles, senior Dariy Vykhodtsev and first-year Graham Russo were edged 8-2 in number one doubles by Parker Law and Jason Weisman.
- Junior Tanner Honnef and sophomore Ryan Hovey took a game in number two doubles against Jose Gonzalez and Martin Mejia.
- In number five singles, sophomore Aidan Hurtado took a total of four games between two sets before falling 6-2, 6-2 to Mejia.
- Hovey combined to win three games across two sets against MacDonald and dropped the match 6-1, 6-2.
- Honnef (No. 1), Russo (No. 2), Lee (No. 4), and first-year Sai Chanda (No. 6) each won a game in their respective matches.
What's Next
Clark will return to the court on Friday with a home contest against UMass Boston beginning at 3:30 p.m. from the Corash Tennis Courts.
