Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University men's lacrosse team (2-6, 1-2 NEWMAC) hosted their sixth annual Renny Classic on Saturday afternoon at Granger Field and came away with a 16-10 victory over Emerson (4-7. 1-1 NEWMAC).

How it Happened
- After Emerson took an early 1-0 lead, graduate student Mark Zito won the ensuing faceoff and found fellow graduate student Benjamin Hollerbach, who put the ball in the back of the net with 14:01 left in the first to tie the game at 1-1.
- Sophomore Matt Wells and junior Attilio LaVecchia each put shots on target that were saved before Hollerbach pushed the edge to 2-1 with 10:40 remaining in the first.
- Graduate student Ryan Mickelson stopped his first shot of the game shortly after and after allowing a goal, stopped a shot from Birk Swan towards the end of the first as the contest was tied 2-2 after one quarter of action.
- Juniors Colin Howard and Patrick Liddy each scored within the first three minutes of the second to push the Cougar lead up to 4-2.
- Liddy added his second goal of the period after scooping up a ground ball and beating the keeper to take a 5-2 lead with 11:14 to go in the second.
- The Lions cut the deficit to two, but again Liddy netted a goal off a feed from LaVecchia with a man-up to extend the lead to 6-3.
- Hollerbach netted his third goal of the half with 8:03 remaining in the second off a feed from first-year Brett Newman to push the advantage to four at 7-3.
- Sophomore Alex D'Entrone extended the edge to 8-3 with a shot less than two minutes after Hollerbach's goal.
- Hollerbach and Liddy both added goals before the half as Clark took a 10-6 lead into the break.
- Mickelson recorded a pair of saves early in the third quarter before sophomore Matt Wells netted his first goal of the game with 11:50 to go in the third to take an 11-6 lead.
- Wells followed that up with another goal just over a minute later and extend the lead to six before Mockelson recorded another save to keep the score 12-6.
- Graduate student Noah Skole found Howard with 6:57 to go in the third and Howard found the back of the net to extend the lead to 13-6.
- Mickelson added three more saves before the end of the third as the Cougars took a 13-8 advantage into the fourth.
- Graduate student Tommy McCarthy netted a man-up goal to open the fourth quarter off a feed from Liddy to push the lead back up to six.
- Liddy recorded his second assist of the quarter as he found D'Entrone and D'Entrone beat the keeper to push the edge to as many as seven at 15-8 with 11:42 remaining.
- Mickelson recorded three more saves before Clark added their final goal of the game with 5:54 to go as Skole found the back of the net to take a 16-9 lead and the Cougars came away with a 16-10 victory.
