Men's Lacrosse Records 11-8 Victory Over Curry on Senior Day

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University men's lacrosse team (5-8) closed out non-conference play and hosted their senior day game against Curry (4-11), coming away with an 11-8 victory over the Colonels on Saturday afternoon from Granger Field.

Seniors John D'Eufemia, Declan Fitzpatrick, Zachary Conant, Liam Kreibich, Michael Schiappa, Dylan Harloff, and Daniel Cook were honored for their contributions to Clark men's lacrosse.

How it Happened

  • Fitzpatrick gave Clark an early 1-0 lead less than one minute into the game after scooping up a ground ball and beating the goalie.
  • Harloff recorded a save with 12:21 to go in the first before junior Attilio LaVecchia found graduate student Benjamin Hollerbach for a goal that gave Clark a 2-1 lead.
  • After Curry tied the game at 2-2, graduate student Noah Skole found the back of the net off a feed from junior Colin Howard as the Cougars took a 3-2 edge.
  • Fitzpatrick scored Clark's final goal of the first with 3:21 to go in the first and Harloff recorded another save as the Cougars took a 4-2 lead into the second quarter.
  • The Colonels tied the game at 4-4 in the second before LaVecchia, sophomore Alex D'Entrone, and junior Patrick Liddy each put shots on goal that were saved by Curry's netminder.
  • Skole gave Clark the lead back at 5-4 late in the second off a feed from Hollerbach as the Cougars took a 5-4 lead into the half.
  • LaVecchia and Hollerbach each put shots on goal early in the third and after Curry tied the game, Skole added his third goal of the game off a feed from LaVecchia to take a 6-5 lead.
  • Fitzpatrick added a goal less than a minute later off a feed from Hollerbach to push the lead to two at 7-5 and after the Colonels got back within one, Fitzpatrick added another goal off a pass from D'Eufemia to make it an 8-6 game.
  • Clark pushed the lead back to two early in the fourth as LaVecchia found the back of the goal off a feed from Hollerbach to push the lead to 9-7.
  • Curry again got back within one before Liddy pushed the edge back up to two at 10-8 with 11:00 remaining in the fourth.
  • Clark held Curry scoreless over the final 12:36 of the game and got another goal from LaVecchia with 6:55 to go and three more saves from Harloff as they came away with an 11-8 victory.
