WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's tennis team (3-7, 1-3 NEWMAC) welcomed Springfield (8-7, 2-1 NEWMAC) to the Corash Tennis Courts on Wednesday night and after winning doubles 2-1, dropped five singles matches as they fell 6-3.
How it Happened
- With Clark trailing 1-0, senior Dariy Vykhodtsev and first-year Graham Russo earned an 8-6 victory in number one doubles over Norin and Sablon.
- Junior Tanner Honnef and sophomore Ryan Hovery recorded a thrilling 8-7 win in number two doubles over Thongbooncharoen and Kendrick to make it a 2-1 match.
- Vykhodtsev earned Clark's lone singles win after falling in set one 6-3, he bounced back with a 6-3 victory in the second set, and a 10-2 win in the third super set.
- Hovey took his number four singles match to three sets as he won set one 6-4, fell 6-1 in set two, and was edged 7-6 in the deciding set.
- Senior Matt Lee won six total games, but fell 6-3, 6-3 in number five action.
- In number three singles, Russo played a competitive first set before falling 6-4, 6-2.
- Honnef dropped his match in number two singles after winning five games as he was edged 6-3, 6-2.
- Sophomore Aidan Hurtado fell 6-1, 6-2 in number six singles.
- Graduate student Max Schweitzer and Lee fell 8-1 in number three doubles.

Clark will be return to the court on Saturday for their senior day game against MIT beginning at 12:00 p.m.
