Box Score 2 SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Clark University softball team (4-17, 0-4 NEWMAC) dropped a pair of conference games to Springfield (19-3, 4-0 NEWMAC) on Friday afternoon from Potter Field.
Game One: Springfield 18, Clark 1 (F/5)
- First-year Felicia Salvati recorded Clark's first hit of the game with a double to left field in the top of the second, but as unable to score as the Pride got out of the inning.
- In the top of the third, senior Allessia Mauro hit a ball that plated Clark's lone run of game one as Caitriona Andre came around to score.
- The Cougars loaded the bases in the top of the fourth as first-years Ella Traynor, Erin Slavin, and Magdalena Barthel each reached base, but Springfield got out of the inning.
- First-year Alyssa Briggs roped a double to left field in the top of the fifth for Clark's final hit.
Game Two: Springfield 11, Clark 2 (F/5)
- Junior Rebecca Mauro doubled to open the top of the fourth and Salvati came up next and doubled to center field to plate Mauro.
- Traynor then singled to center field and brought Salvati around to score Clark's second run.
- Senior Eliza Lindberg walked in the top of the fifth and reached second before the Pride recorded the final out of the game.

Clark will return to action on Friday when they travel to Springfield for a NEWMAC doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
