Men's Tennis Falls to Assumption

Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's tennis team (1-1) traveled across town for a non-conference match against Division II opponent Assumption (3-1) and were edged 7-0 on Friday afternoon from the Assumption Tennis Courts.  

How it Happened
  • First-years Edward Shepherd-Johnson and Aris Krikorian competed in number one doubles and were edged 6-4.
  • Senior Tanner Honnef and sophomore Graham Russo took a pair of games in number two play, but fell 6-2.
  • Junior Ryan Hovey and first-year Adham Seraj won a game in number three action, losing 6-1.
  • Shepherd-Johnson played a competitive first set, falling 7-5 before clinching one game in the second set in number one singles.
  • After falling 6-1 in the first set, Hovey took it to a tiebreak in the second set, but was edged 7-6 (3) in number five play.
  • Kirkorian won four games in the first set and two in the second in number two singles, falling 6-4, 6-2.
  • Russo (No. 4) and junior Aidan Hurtado (No. 6) each won two games across the two sets.
  • Honnef took a game in the second set of number five play.
What's Next
Clark will return to the court on Wednesday for a road match at Colby-Sawyer beginning at 4:00 p.m.
