SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Clark women's soccer team (5-1-1, 1-1-0 NEWMAC) traveled to Springfield (4-1-2, 2-0-0 NEWMAC) for their first NEWMAC road match of the year and fell 2-0 to the Pride on Saturday afternoon from the Irv Schmid Sports Complex.
How it Happened
- Junior Anabella White recorded the first save of the match in the second minute off a shot from Meredith Healy and in the seventh minute, junior Isabella Ramirez put a shot on target to the bottom left of the net, but had the shot saved as each team created a chance early in the match.
- In the 15th minute, Ramirez put another shot on goal to the bottom right corner, but again Taryn Ryan came away with a save.
- White recorded another save in the 16th minute, but the Pride put a goal on the scoreboard off a shot from Jen Walker.
- Walker netted another goal in the 22nd minute to extend the lead before White registered another save and added three more before the half as Springfield led 2-0.
- Ramirez put a shot in the bottom left corner of the goal in the 58th minute that was stopped again by Ryan as Clark created another chance.
- White recorded another save and junior Andrea Mortimer and first-year Ainsley Golini each attempted shots over the rest of the match as Clark fell 2-0.
