CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (2-5-3, 0-2-1 NEWMAC) traveled to Cambridge to take on MIT (4-4-1, 3-0-0 NEWMAC) and were scoreless at the break before the Engineers netted a pair of second half goals to come away with a 2-0 victory.
How it Happened
- Junior Colin Ruiz put Clark's first shot of the game on target in the 12th minute, with the shot being saved by Lukas Hanson-Puffer to keep the match tied at 0-0.
- Senior Andrew DiStefano recorded three saves within a six-minute period early in the half and stopped another shot in the 27th minute.
- The Engineers created two more chance before the half that were saved by DiStefano as the team's headed into the half in a 0-0 tie.
- MIT took a 1-0 lead early in the second half off a goal from Nico Mangiafico and shortly after, first-year Evan Thompson serviced in a corner kick that was knocked away.
- Thompson created the Cougars best chance of the second half in the 69th minute, but had his effort saved before the Engineers added a second goal and came away with a 2-0 win.
