All 15 Players Score in 89-16 Win Against Mount Holyoke

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Clark women's basketball team (12-5, 2-1 NEWMAC) registered their second NEWMAC win of the year as they came away with an 89-16 victory over Mount Holyoke (2-15, 0-3 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon from Howard Gymnasium.

How it Happened
  • The Cougars jumped out to an early 15-2 lead as senior Jacqueline Faulise netted seven points and they also got buckets from first-year Kailey Rios, first-year Catherine Antwi, and graduate student Sarah Zambrano.
  • Zambrano, senior Alexis Ross, and junior Megan Swedberg all scored before the end of the first quarter as the scarlet and white held a 21-7 edge after the period.
  • Mount Holyoke scored the first two points of the second quarter before Clark rattled off 20 unanswered points as Rios, first-year Emma Drefs, senior Alaina Schatzabel, and Zambrano each added four points as the Cougars took a 41-9 lead into the half.
  • Clark outscored the Lyons 30-2 in the third quarter led by seven points from Faulise and junior Kumi Tamura as well as buckets from Rios, sophomore Ashley Leighton, Zambrano, Antwi, and Ross as the Cougars took a 71-11 edge into the fourth quarter.
  • Leighton, first-year Amarna Windross, graduate student Simone Fiore, first-year Bella Galatt, Zambrano, and sophomore Sam Golden all scored in the fourth quarter as Clark came away with a convincing conference victory.

  • Clark grabbed 53 rebounds, dished out 19 assists, registered 21 steals, and forced 34 turnovers.
  • Faulise led the offense with 16 points on 7-8 shooting.
  • Zambrano recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
  • Rios also reached double-figures with 11 points on five made shots.
  • 15 Cougars scored in the contests.

The Cougars will return to the court on Wednesday night with a home game against Wheaton beginning at 7:00 p.m.
