WORCESTER, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (5-8-4, 0-6-1 NEWMAC) hosted Babson (11-1-6, 6-0-1 NEWMAC) for their final home conference contest and conceded a pair of goals off corner kicks as the Cougars fell 2-0 to the Beavers on Wednesday night from Granger Field.
How it Happened
- Both teams midfields controlled the pace of play over the first 18 minutes of play before Lyndon Way headed a corner that was saved by first-year Joseph Joannou before Samuel Kalishman fired a ball in that was deflected by James Donaldson for a goal to put the Beavers up 1-0.
- Clark earned a free kick in the 22nd minute and senior Lucas Saia sent the shot just high of the goal from just outside the box.
- Senior Tyler Manley fired off a header that went wide of the goal in the 28th minute and before the half junior Diego Marin recorded a pair of saves as the Beavers led 1-0.
- After Marin tallied a save in the 52nd minute, sophomore Marc Kim nearly snuck the ball around Walker White, but White was able to make a play on the ball.
- Babson extended their lead to 2-0 in the 67th minute when Liam Goldstein tipped a ball to James Modiano, who found the back of the net.
- Manley created a chance in the 72nd minute with a right footed shot that was saved from just inside the box by White.
- Marin tallied a pair of saves down the stretch as the Beavers came away with a 2-0 victory.
