Men's Tennis Falls to Colby

WATERVILLE, Me. – The Clark University men's tennis team (1-2) traveled to Colby (1-0) for their second match of the week and fell 6-1 to the Mules on Saturday afternoon from the Alfond-Wales Tennis Courts.

How it Happened
Doubles: Colby 3, Clark 0
  • In number two doubles, first-year Ziad Tabbara and sophomore Drew Morris battled with Daly and Bogdanovic, winning five games, but dropping the match 5-7.
  • Senior Ryan Hovey and graduate student Tanner Honnef tallied three wins in number three action, but fell 3-6 to Sosa Rodriguez and Dandler.
  • Sophomore Edward Shepherd-Johnson and first-year Aris Kirkorian took two games from Cohen and Ziets-Segura, but were edged 2-6.  
Singles: Colby 5, Clark 1
  • Shepherd-Johnson took on Dandler in number one singles and took the first set 7-5, dropped the second set 6-7, before taking the thrilling tiebreak 10-7.
  • In number five singles, Hovey lost 3-6 in the first set, won the second set 6-1, and was edged 4-6 against Das.
  • Senior Graham Russo won five games (5-7) in the first set in number six play against Kaplan before losing 2-6 in the second set.
  • Kirkorian (4-6, 1-6) and Morris (3-6, 2-6) combined to each win five games across two sets, but dropped their matches in number two and four play respectively.
  • Tabbara fell 1-6, 2-6 in his number three singles match against Sosa Rodriguez.
What's Next
Clark will return to the court on Tuesday when they travel to Nichols for a non-conference match beginning at 4:00 p.m.
