CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Clark University women's soccer team (3-7-0, 0-3-0 NEWMAC) traveled to No. 7 MIT (8-1-1, 3-0-0 NEWMAC) and held a lead at the break, but the Engineers scored off a pair of corners in the second half as the Cougars fell 2-1 on Saturday afternoon from Roberts Field.

What Happened
  • Senior Anabella White stopped three shots within the first 15 minutes of action before both midfields controlled play over the next 25 minutes of play and the Cougars fought off seven MIT corner kicks.
  • After Clark drew a foul just outside the box in the 43rd minute, first-year Selene Hammad touched a free kick to fellow first-year Madeleine Reeves and Reeves beat the goalie to the top right corner of the net as the Cougars took a 1-0 lead into the half.
  • White came away with four critical saves to open the second half before the Engineers were able to score off a corner in the 74th minute as Emiko Pope scored off a service from Sean Luk.
  • Just over a minute later, MIT earned another corner kick and Lauren Davis found the back of the net as the Engineers came away with a 2-1 victory.
