WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University women's soccer team (3-8-0, 0-4-0 NEWMAC) hosted Smith (3-7-1, 2-1-1 NEWMAC) and allowed a goal in the 17th minute as the Pioneers registered a 1-0 victory on Wednesday night from Granger Field.
What Happened
- First-year Georgia Louis created a pair of chances within the first 10 minutes of play, with her second attempt getting saved by Skylar Smith.
- Senior Anabella White recorded two incredible saves, including a save lunging to her left before Morgan Watson scored off a free kick to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute.
- First-year Madeleine Reeves and Louis each put shots on target that were saved in the middle of the first half as the Cougars trailed 1-0 at the half.
- Junior Ainsley Golini provided a spark to start the second half with a pair of shots that were stopped by Smith and in the 63rd minute senior Isabella Ramirez had an attempt saved.
- Golini created her third chance of the match in the 68th minute that was stopped and sophomore Sadie Cohen fired the Cougars final shot attempt of the game on target in the 87th minute that was saved as the Pioneers recorded a 1-0 victory.
