WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark men's basketball (16-6, 10-3 NEWMAC) hosted Emerson (9-12, 5-7 NEWMAC) in their Morgan's Message Game and came away with a convincing 87-62 on Saturday afternoon from the Kneller Gymnasium.

Bruce Saintilus was honored prior to the game for becoming the 33rd member of the men's basketball 1,000 point club earlier this week against Coast Guard.
How it Happened
- The Cougars jumped out to an early 10-5 lead sparked by four points from both junior Kekoa McArdle and Saintilus as well as a basket from senior Mikey O'Brien and a layup off an offensive rebound from first-year Christopher Clarke gave the scarlet and white took a 12-5 edge with 14:23 remaining in the first half.
- Clark scored 23 unanswered points led by eight points from sophomore Reid Neumann and points from junior Isaiah Taylor, junior Ian Calabrese, McArdle, and a made layup from sophomore Aedan Derrick helped give the Cougars a 31-8 lead with 8:56 to go in the half.
- After the Lions scored six unanswered, Calabrese hit a pair of three-pointers, senior Jordan Richard made a layup, and a layup from Saintilus off a feed from O'Brien gave the Cougars a 45-17 lead at the half.
- Taylor scored the first six points of the second half and a made layup off a coast-to-coast take from Clarke gave the scarlet and white a 55-25 edge with 16:02 to play.
- Saintilus scored four of Clark's next seven points to push the lead to 62-30 with 12:33 remaining before McArdle and Clarke each scored to give the Cougars a 66-32 advantage midway through the second half.
- Richard registered a steal, made a layup, and connected on a three-pointer to give Clark a 73-41 lead with 5:33 to play.
- Clarke, Neumann, first-year Malik Matanmi, and junior Kyle Jackson each scored down the stretch as the Cougars came away with an 87-62 victory over the Lions.

- The Cougars grabbed 46 rebounds, shot 50.8 percent from the floor, dished out 23 assists, and recorded 15 steals.
- McArdle led the way with 16 points and added two blocks.
