CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Clark men's tennis team (7-3, 0-1 NEWMAC) opened conference play with a 9-0 loss to No. 24 MIT (5-2, 1-0 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon from the Dupont Tennis Courts.

How it Happened
Doubles: MIT 3, Clark 0

• Sophomore Edward Shepherd-Johnson and first-year Aris Kirkorian battled with Papacica and Gallagher in number one doubles and fell 8-3.
• Senior Tanner Honnef and junior Ryan Hovey took four games in number two doubles, but dropped the match 8-4 to Sun and Kahler.
• In number three doubles, sophomore Graham Russo and first-year Adham Seraj were edged 8-1 by Li and Chakladar in number three play.

Singles: MIT 6, Clark 0

• In number four singles, Russo took a total of four games before ultimately falling 6-1, 6-3 to Nguyen.
• Kirkorian battled with Choudhary in number two singles and dropped the first set 6-4 and the second set 6-0.
• In number five singles, Hovey was edged 6-1-6-2 by Masuda.
• After falling 6-0 in set one, Honnef earned three games in the second set against Chakladar.
• Shepherd-Johnson (No. 1) and Seraj (No. 6) both dropped their matches 6-1, 6-1.

What's Next
Clark will return to the court on Saturday afternoon with a road NEWMAC match at MIT beginning a 1:00 p.m.
