Women's Lacrosse Cruises to 15-5 Win Over Bard

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (2-1) closed out their two-game homestand against Bard (0-2) prior to heading to spring break and came away with a 15-5 victory over Bard on Saturday afternoon from Granger Field.

How it Happened
  • The Raptors jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as Gwendolyn Jamison found the back of the net and after a shot on target from junior Meghan Fogarty was saved, graduate student Sophie Didier scored to tie the game at 1-1.
  • Sophomore Elizabeth Cacciapaglia then netted a free position goal and a free position goal from Fogarty extended the Clark advantage to 3-1 with 8:31 to play in the first quarter.
  • The scarlet and white scored the final three goals as graduate student Elizabeth Liakos, graduate student Kiley Simmons, and junior Erin Lucas each scored, with a pair of assists going to first-year Kami LaBella and the other to Liakos as the Cougars led 6-1.
  • Liakos added her second goal of the game to open the second quarter off a feed from Didier and Fogarty first goal of the afternoon extended the edge to 8-1.
  • Simmons, Fogarty, and Lucas each scored before the half, with assists going to LaBella and Fogarty as the scarlet and white led 11-2 at the break.
  • Senior Mary Greene scooped up a ground ball and scored to open the third and after a Bard goal, Simmons found Didier as the Cougars held a 13-3 lead with 10:17 remaining in the third.
  • Senior Angela Borelli joined the scoring list before the end of the third quarter as Clark took a 14-4 edge into the fourth.
  • In the fourth, Didier found LaBella for the team's 15th goal as the Cougars recorded a 15-5 victory.

  • Clark attempted 41 shots, forced 36 turnovers, scooped up 28 ground balls, and won 12 draw controls.
  • Fogarty led the team with three goals and seven draw controls.
