Women's Lacrosse Falls to Berry on Wednesday

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (3-2) closed out their 2024 spring break trip with an 18-7 loss to Berry (6-2) on Wednesday morning from Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex.

How it Happened
  • Berry jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before first-year Kami LaBella put Clark on the scoreboard off a feed from graduate student Elizabeth Liakos with 11:17 to go in the first quarter.
  • Junior Meghan Fogarty cut the deficit to one goal with a goal off a pass from junior Erin Lucas to make it a 3-2 game in favor of Berry.
  • After three more Berry goals, junior Aubrey Conners netted a free position man-up goal with 1:07 remaining in the first to cut the deficit to 6-3.
  • Junior Annie Battle recorded a free position shot save early in the second and Conners second goal of the contest made it a 9-4 game.
  • After Conners had a free position shot saved, LaBella netted her second goal of the game with 1:29 before the half as Clark trailed 10-5 at the break.
  • Senior Greer McCarty had a free position attempt shot saved to open the third quarter and after a pair of Berry goals, Liakos scored a free position goal to make it a 12-6 contest.
  • Sophomore Victoria Holden recorded a pair of saves in the third before Fogarty netted Clark's final goal of the game off a pass from Conners as the Cougars fell 18-7.

  • Clark attempted 21 shots, forced 23 turnovers, scooped up 19 ground balls, and won 10 draw controls.
  • Conners led the team with two goals and an assist.
  • LaBella and Fogarty each scored a pair of goals.
  • Liakos recorded a goal and an assist.
  • Sophomore Elizabeth Cacciapaglia scooped up four ground balls and caused two turnovers.
