Men's Tennis Clinches NEWMAC Playoff Spot with 9-0 Win Over Salve on Senior Day

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's tennis team (10-5, 3-3 NEWMAC) clinched a spot in the NEWMAC Tournament on the team's senior day, defeating Salve Regina (0-12, 0-5 NEWMAC) 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon from the Corash Tennis Courts.

Prior to the match, senior Tanner Honnef was honored for his contributions to the Clark tennis program.

Doubles: Clark 3, Salve Regina 0 Singles: Clark 6, Salve Regina 0
  • Shepherd-Johnson registered a 7-5, 6-2 victory in number one singles.
  • In number three singles, Honnef recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win.
  • Russo (No. 4) and junior Aidan Hurtado (No. 6) each tallied 6-1, 6-1 victories.
  • Hovey registered a 6-0, 6-1 win in number five singles.
  • Kirkorian won on a retirement from Middleton in number two play after taking the first three games of the set.
What's Next
Clark will return to the court tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Endicott for their final non-conference game of the year beginning at 3:30 p.m.
