Keklak Tabbed as Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach

WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark University Director of Athletics and Recreation announces the appointment of Andrea Keklak as the new Head Cross Country Coach on Friday afternoon.

"Andrea emerged as the ideal candidate to lead our cross country program," said Cronin. "Her impressive track record at Sidwell Friends, coupled with her dedication to student-athlete development both in and out of the classroom, aligns perfectly with our mission at Clark University."

Prior to joining Clark University, Keklak served as the Head Women's Cross Country and Distance Track and Field Coach at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. since August 2020. During her tenure, she led daily practices for grades 7 to 12, focusing on high-level training, skills development, and fostering a supportive team environment. Under her leadership, the 2023 Women's Cross Country team achieved its highest league finish since 2016, demonstrating her coaching acumen and commitment to athletic excellence.

"I am thrilled to join the Clark Cross Country program as Head Coach," said Keklak. "I want to thank the Clark search committee, Associate Athletic Director Kirsten Clark, and Athletic Director Trish Cronin for this incredible opportunity. I'm so excited to begin working with the Clark team and to continue to build a culture of teamwork, dedication, and excellence. I look forward to the success and growth we can achieve together, and I'm honored to share this journey with you all."

In addition to her coaching roles, Keklak has served as an Assistant Coach at Sidwell Friends and as a Running Group Instructor at Green Mountain Running Camp in Vermont. Her experience includes advising top athletes on NCAA recruiting standards and the college recruitment process, further enhancing her ability to guide student-athletes toward their goals.

A standout athlete herself, Keklak was an NCAA Champion in the Distance Medley Relay and achieved All-American status in the 800m and mile events while competing for the Georgetown University Track and Field Team. She holds a Master's Degree in Public Relations & Communications from Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Georgetown University.
