NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Clark University men's cross country traveled to Smith College for the Ellen O'Neil Invitational. Thirteen runners competed in the 8K for the Cougars, with junior Summit Smoker earning a fourth place finish in the field of 50.

How it Happened 

• Smoker crossed first with a time of 26:56.4, three seconds ahead of the fifth place finisher. 

• Senior Robert Burton (28:02.2) and sophomore William Stone (28:56.2) were the next two across the line for Clark, each cracking the top 20 with their finish. 

• Sophomores Benjamin Pennington (29:44.0) and David Seniuk (30:48.9) were the next two Cougars across. 

• Sophomore Calvin Hillis-Piecyk (31:07.6), sophomore Rodeo Purves-Langer (31:25.6), and Junior Nathaniel Storck (31:36.7) finished in succession for Clark. 

• First-year Asa Taggert (31:47.9) finished just behind that group, with senior Miles Caponi (32:01.6) setting a new career best with his finish. 

• First-year Owen Smith (33:33.7), sophomore Samuel Wong (36:08.4), and first-year Elian Elguera-Thomases (36:18.8) closed out the day of competition for Clark.
