WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Clark University men's cross country traveled to Hartford for their second race of the season Saturday Morning, placing 10 runners inside the top 100 and setting four new career-bests in the 5K. 

How it Happened 

• Junior Summit Smoker was the first Cougar across the finish line, with a time of 16:32.9, good for 13th place in the field of 119 runners and a new career-best time. 

• Senior Robert Burton (17:32.2) was the next to cross, followed closely by sophomore William Stone (17:56.6) and Sophomore Benjamin Pennington (18:46.4). 

• Three Cougars would finish within a span of 6 runners, with first-year Owen Smith (19:06.7), sophomore David Seniuk (19:20.4), and junior Nathaniel Storck (19:24.5) finishing in quick succession. 

• Sophomore Rodeo Purves-Langer (19:32.3), and first-year Asa Taggert (19:46.8) would be the next two across, with Purves-Langer setting a new career-best with his time. 

• Senior Miles Caponi (20:17.1) & sophomore Samuel Wong (21:48.0) would close out the race for the Cougars, each setting a new career-best in the process.
