Volleyball Drops Final Two Matches at William Smith, Sterling Named to All-Tournament Team

GENEVA, N.Y. – The Clark University volleyball team (1-2) played their final two games of the William Smith Invitational against Oswego State (1-1) and William Smith (2-0), dropping both matches on Saturday from Bristol Gymnasium.

Senior Camille Sterling was named to the All-Tournament Team after combining for a team-leading 40 kills across the three games.

  • Clark fell 25-20 in the first set, dropped the second set 25-23, took the third set 25-20, won the fourth set 25-21, and were edged 18-16 in the fifth set.
  • The Cougars tallied 57 kills, 53 assists, 68 digs, six blocks, and six service aces.
  • Sterling led the team with 16 kills and added two blocks.
  • Graduate student Camille Flurry added 15 kills and four digs.
  • Fellow graduate student Victoria Pastor also registered double-digit kills with 11 and tallied 15 digs.
  • Senior Yvanna Torres (31) and sophomore Julia Dopazo (20) led the team in assists.
  • Junior Yumeng Liu led the squad with 25 digs.

  • The scarlet and white dropped the first set 25-16, fell 25-20 in the second set, and lost the final set 25-16.
  • Clark recorded 28 kills, 25 assists, 26 digs, six blocks, and six service aces.
  • Sterling added nine kills and two blocks.
  • Pastor and Flurry each registered six kills.
  • Graduate student Sofia Scherrer del Llano tallied five kills and a block.
  • Torres (14) and Dopazo (9) led the squad in assists.
  • Liu reached double-digits in digs with 11.
What's Next
Clark will return to action on Wednesday night with a road non-conference game at Southern Maine beginning at 7:00 p.m.
