Pair of Late Goals Guide Men's Soccer Past Nichols

DUDLEY, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (2-2-2) competed in their third game of a four-game road stint on Saturday when they traveled to Nichols (2-3-0) and came away with a 3-1 victory led by a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes from Nichols Soccer Field.

How it Happened
  • Junior Diego Marin stopped a pair of shots within the first 10 minutes of action before seniors William Lopez and Lucas Saia each had shots saved as both offenses created early chances.
  • Marin tallied three more saves in the middle of the first half and junior Mauro Perez Colon had a shot stopped before Clark earned a corner kick in the 43rd minute and junior Amechi Aduba scored off a feed from sophomore Carter Benoff as the Cougars took a 1-0 lead into the half.
  • Sophomore Marc Kim, Saia, and junior Ben Siegel all created chances to open the second half that were saved and Marin stopped a pair of shots before the Bison tied the match at 1-1 in the 71st minute off a goal from Juanesteban Hincapie.
  • Perez Colon answered with a goal off a left-footed boot in the 81st minute and Siegel added an insurance goal in the 87th minute off a feed from Marin as the Cougars came away with a 3-1 road victory.
