Men's Soccer Draws 3-3 Against Framingham State

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (1-1-2) traveled to Framingham State (0-1-2) for their first road match of the season on Saturday morning and came away with a 3-3 tie in a high-scoring affair from Maple Street Field.

How it Happened
  • Junior Ben Siegel nearly gave Clark an early lead with a header that was stopped in the second minute of play.
  • Off a free kick down the field, Siegel headed a ball up the right sideline that found senior Zachary Kratz and Kratz put the ball past Timothy Singleton to five the scarlet and white a 1-0 edge in the third minute.
  • Siegel and first-year Graham Summers each had shots saved after the goal before junior Diego Marin recorded his first save of the match in the 20th minute off a shot from Kaio Santos Da Silva.
  • The Rams tied the game in the 29th minute when Joao De Aquino put the ball in the back of the net and in the 34th minute, first-year Richard Ogawa Jr. had his shot saved, which went down as the final shot on goal of the half as the teams remained tied at 1-1.
  • Junior Henry Kuerbis and senior Lucas Saia each had shots stopped early in the second half and Marin tallied a save in the 57th minute.
  • Framingham State took a 3-1 lead off a goals from De Aquino and Michael Jokic early in the second half before Siegel had a pair shots saved shortly after.
  • Siegel got the Cougars back within one at 3-2 with a goal in the 80th minute and two minutes later, Saia scored off a feed from Siegel to tie the contest at 3-3.
  • Senior William Lopez put Clark's final shot on target in the 89th minute that was stopped by Singleton as the match ended in a 3-3 tie.

  • Siegel led the team with a goal and two assists, his third goal and first two assists of the year.
