Smith Earns 100th Career Win in 4-0 Win Over Framingham State

WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark University head women's soccer coach Brienne Smith earned her 100th career win as the Cougars (2-1-0) came away with a convincing 4-0 win over Framingham State (0-3-0) on Saturday afternoon from Granger Field.

How it Happened
  • First-year Georgia Louis gave the scarlet and white an early 1-0 lead as senior Isabel Echeverry found her breaking up the left side of the field and Louis beat the keeper.
  • Less than a minute later, senior goalie Anabella White sent a ball down the field that found the foot of Louis and Louis beat Madison Magone in a 1v1 situation to extend the advantage to 2-0.
  • The Cougars added to their lead in the 20th minute when Louis found her in front of the goal and junior Emma Shaughnessy put the ball in the back of the net to give Clark a 3-0 edge.
  • White recorded saves in the 26th and 27th minute, while stopping the final shot before the half in the 34th minute as the scarlet and white held a 3-0 edge.
  • Louis and first-year Selene Hammad opened the second half with shots on goal that were stopped by Magone and in the 55th minute, graduate student Grace Oelkers recorded a defensive save.
  • Junior Gabriella Herivaux nearly got on the scoreboard with a pair of shots that were saved and in the 78th minute, Shaughnessy registered her second goal of the game to go up 4-0.
  • Senior Andrea Mortimer put the final shot of the match on target, but was stopped by Magone as Clark came away with a 4-0 win.

  • Louis scored her second and third goals of the season, while also tallying her third assist.
  • Shaughnessy scored her first to goals of the year and her third as a Cougar.
