WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University field hockey team (8-5, 0-5 NEWMAC) hosted their senior day and breast cancer awareness game as they welcomed Wheaton (7-5, 3-2 NEWMAC) and surrendered an early goal that they were unable to recover from as they fell 1-0 on Saturday afternoon from Granger Field.

How it Happened
- Cacciapaglia attempted Clark's first shot of the game that went wide of the mark in the fifth minute before Gia Marotta scored off a feed from Kayla Wilonski less than 0:30 seconds later as the Lyons took a 1-0 lead.
- Junior Rachel Reiter stopped three shots over the remainder of the first and Brown fired a pair of shots on goal that went wide as the Cougars trailed 1-0 after 15:00 minutes of play.
- Over the first five minutes of the second quarter, Cacciapaglia fired a shot off a corner sent in by Beauchain and Kopec had a shot saved as Clark applied constant offensive pressure.
- Off a Wheaton penalty corner, Kelsey Thompson attempted a shot on target that was saved by Reiter as the Lyons took a 1-0 lead into the half.
- In the third quarter, first-year Olivia Bass fired a shot on goal that was stopped and Riley Levrault sent a shot wide as Clark still trailed 1-0.
- Reiter kept the Cougars in the contest early in the fourth as she stopped two shots over the first two minutes and Clark's defense fought off a Lyon corner with 10:00 minutes to play.
- The scarlet and white earned a pair of penalty corners, with Cacciapaglia firing a shot on goal that was saved and on the second corner, Cacciapaglia fired a shot high.
- Brown and Bass each attempted shots over the final two minutes that went wide of the mark as Clark fell 1-0.
