WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University field hockey team (8-7, 0-6 NEWMAC) traveled to No. 4 Babson (14-1, 6-0 NEWMAC) in a NEWMAC weekend matchup and were bested 6-0 by the Beavers on Saturday afternoon from MacDowell Field.
How it Happened
- The Cougars created the first chance of the afternoon in the first minute as senior Jenna Beauchain serviced in a pair of penalty corners and fellow senior Elizabeth Cacciapaglia fired a shot that was saved by Madison Tibbals.
- Junior Rachel Reiter stopped a pair of shots a minute later before Caroline DiGiovanni scored a pair of goals before the end of the first as the Beavers held a 2-0 advantage.
- DiGiovanni and Ashley Braren each scored in the second and Reiter added two more saves as Babson took a 4-0 lead into the half.
- Beauchain sent in a penalty corner five minutes into the third quarter and fended off seven corners before Lilly Goettsche added to the lead to make it 5-0 going into the fourth.
- First-year Olivia Bass fired a shot on target that was saved by Josie Ashton and Reiter tallied four more saves before Aurielle Wolf added to the lead as the Beavers recorded a 6-0 victory.
