WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark University men's soccer (4-8-2, 0-4-1 NEWMAC) hosted Emerson College (4-5-5, 1-3-1 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Lions jumped out to a quick start with two goals in the opening twenty minutes, later adding an insurance goal in the second half. The Cougars found a late goal in the final ninety seconds but couldn't close the gap, falling 3-1.
How it Happened

The Lions generated their first look with a header in the 6th minute before converting on their second attempt, as a Rohan Edwards cross landed perfectly at the foot of a streaking Carlo Carson for the one-touch finish.

That duo linked up again in the 19th minute, with an Edwards corner kick finding the head of Carson this time for the brace.

Emerson nearly extended its lead in the 33rd minute with a shot that struck the crossbar but couldn't find another goal before halftime, heading into the break up 2-0.

Clark recorded its first shot on goal early in the second half off the foot of senior Ben Siegel before a strike from Dominic Reiter deflected off a Cougar defender, perfectly arcing over the rest of the defense and under the crossbar to make it 3-0.

The Cougars found an answer late in the half, as first-year Theo Massie-Vereker sent a perfect cross to senior Amechi Aduba for the finish in the 88th minute.
