WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark University field hockey (8-3, 0-3 NEWMAC) hosted Smith College (7-4, 2-1 NEWMAC) in a tightly contested matchup that was knotted 1-1 at halftime, before the Bears pulled ahead with two third-quarter goals to take the win.

Smith applied early pressure, recording the first two shots on goal before breaking through on a rebound that Callahan Day buried into the back of the net.

Clark responded before the end of the first quarter, as senior Jenna Beauchain sent the penalty corner insert to senior Alison Kopec, who returned it for Beauchain to tuck in the equalizer.
